I love you from Finnley

I continue to be amazed about our wonderful granddaughter Finnley.  She is 5 months old now and so sweet.  I found this pattern for putting a skirt onto a onsie (a tee shirt that snaps in the crotch)  and made a Valentines wish to her parents.  They are doing a wonderful job of parenting and deserved a big "I love you  from Finnley.  It turned out great as you can see by the pics.  What you cannot see is that I put pink ruffles on the white tigths.

Heather, Finnley and I went to lunch last Friday at Amical...It was fun and Finnley was the hit of the restaurant.  Big surprise!!
We have wild weather going on here in Michigan ...snow over the weekend and warm temps coming tonight with a high of 48 expected tomorrow.  Then rain and it will freeze...wonderful.  Why can't it just be winter.
Lots of snow sliding off our metal roof with big crashes...but better than sitting up there and making our roof leak.
XC skiing at the cabin this weekend...wonderful

The start of 2013

The Holiday's flew by and we are now into the cold of January.  We have had a mild winter so far till this week when the temps have dropped to the 2 to 8 range.  Lake effect snow brings daily accumulation of a few inches.  I love the winter but it is a little too cold for me...I did XC ski a few weeks ago at the cabin on a beautiful sunny day.  Both Mike and I have had the flu crud.  Finally both of us are better.  Finnley is thriving and doing new things every time she comes to our house...so fun to be part of her life!
Mike has a new sign above the door at the store...It stands out well when you look down the street and looks well with the new cigar smoking man statue in front of the store.

This last weekend Patrick, Heather and Finnley came out to the cabin to enjoy the winter snow.  Of course it is Michigan and it is always fooling you....it rained and most of the snow melted and then the next day the temps dropped to 10, wind 50 miles and hour and lots of snow.  Wonderful!
So we had a marathon afternoon game of Euchre....the girls won!!!  Finnley was very interested in the cards so I know she will be a winner too!  Heather's Birthday is January 23rd so we had an early celebration...Finnley did a great job shopping for her Mom.
I hope everyone is well and healthy.
